About the role

We are looking for a senior drilling engineer who is detail-oriented and driven by a desire to progress, who is motivated by challenges and values teamwork.
The candidate must have solid experience in drilling. They will assist the drilling supervisor and work closely with members of the well planning and operations teams, including fluid engineers, drilling engineers, completion engineers and logistics supervisors. They will monitor and facilitate drilling operations by liaising with the rig team and other field departments.
- Contributes actively to the safety of operations and suggests improvements to safety of operations
- Support Wells HSE team to carry regular audits of service companies
- Supports the review and investigation of all FOCUS incidents related to WDE activities
- He provides assistance to the Drilling Superintendent, technical and operational support to drilling operations in close communication with the operational team.
- He resolves operational issues and advises on corrective actions when issues are encountered.
- He makes sure the Drilling, Fluids, cementing and Completion Prorgams are communicated to the rig and understood. He leads the pre-section meetings with
- Service companies and the operational team. He ensures Programs are strictly adhered to and participates in the review of the performances, of the well programs, suggests improvements and follows AAR
- He ensures that Assala Drilling policies are adhered to, raises the MOCs when necessary and document all deviations from the well program in close communication with Wells
Requirements
- Engineering degree
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in Well Planning and Operations follow up. This
- should include at least 3years as Wells Engineer and 2 years of operational experience on
- the rigs as Field De or Assistant DSV.
- Capable of successfully passing the IWCF, supervisor level 4
- Fit to work onshore and travel regularly to the field
- Fluent in English and in French
- Strong pusher, result oriented.
- Very organized
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Good communication skills
