We have a vibrant and passionate team at Te Mirumiru, and we’re looking for two Casual Kaiāwhina to join our whānau in Kawakawa

If you’re passionate about supporting tamariki and want flexible work in a kaupapa Māori environment, we’d love to hear from you.

👶 About the Role

As a Casual Kaiāwhina, you’ll support our kaimahi on an as-needed basis, helping create a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment for our pēpi and tamariki.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting our kaiako in daily activities
• Supervising tamariki when required
• Preparing food
• Cleaning and maintaining the centre
• Assisting across both under 2’s and over 2’s spaces

✅ About You

You’ll bring enthusiasm, flexibility, and a genuine love for working with tamariki.

Ideally you will have:

• An interest in early childhood education
• Experience working with tamariki (ECE or similar preferred)
• Ability to work across age groups
• Willingness to undertake further training
• Understanding of, or willingness to learn, te reo Māori, tikanga and values
• Confidence working in a Māori learning environment
• NZ residency or valid right to work in New Zealand
• Availability for casual/on-call shifts
