Accountant

Join ESR Group, a leading Asia-Pacific real asset manager focused on New Economy sectors, including logistics, data centres, and infrastructure and renewables.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our Sydney team within Funds Finance. This role is responsible for the preparation of monthly and year-end financial accounting, management reporting, and tax compliance for a portfolio of Stabilised and Development Funds.

Working closely with the Senior Accountant, you will support the delivery of fund accounting requirements across the portfolio, as well as assist with ad hoc tasks to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the funds finance function.

 Key responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly and year-end financial and management reports for a portfolio of Stabilised and Development Funds
• Review of fund-level P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of journals (including IFRS/AASB16 and loan-related entries)
• Support tax compliance requirements including BAS, income tax returns, and distribution calculations
• Maintain accurate financial records through bank and balance sheet reconciliations, payment reviews, and stakeholder coordination
• Assist with audits, loan covenant reporting, process improvements, and ad hoc fund finance tasks to support the broader team

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills, experience and approach: 

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance, with CA/CPA qualification (or close to completion)

• Strong Excel capability, with the ability to manage and analyse financial data effectively
• High attention to detail, with strong organisational and record-keeping skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills, with a professional approach and ability to work collaboratively across teams
• Comfortable leveraging technology, including AI tools, to enhance efficiency and output
