About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
- Coding of invoices, update accounts receivable, perform customer account reconciliations
- Support with accounts receivables dispute resolution
- Raising invoice payment proposals, update accounts payable, perform reconciliations and deal with supplier queries
- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
- Assist with reviewing expenses, payroll records, etc., as assigned
- Perform bank account reconciliations
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
- Prepare and daily/weekly/monthly reports in accordance with the set reporting calendar
- Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
- Assist with other accounting projects
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Senior Finance Manager
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Relevant accounting qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) are a plus but not required
- 2 years’ experience in financial accounting and reporting
- Relevant experience with at least 1 year experience working in financial accounting environment within shared services.
- Entry level understanding of local financial reporting and tax requirements.
- Working knowledge of local regulatory and tax requirements and deadlines is a plus
- Previously worked in a shared services environment for at least 1 year.
- Excellent IT skills in use of Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.)
- Knowledge of financial accounting, process, and systems. Working knowledge of ERP’s
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Analytical Thinking - acquiring a proper understanding of a problem or situation by breaking it down systematically into its component parts and identifying the relationships & linkages between processes.
- Demonstrable ability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent organization and documentation skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Capable of working collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of UK, US and Canadian GAAP an advantage but not essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to articulate complex information.
- Attention to detail, and accurate fact-based interpretation.
- Ability to set clear priorities and objectives
