Our work is highly hands-on, detail-oriented, and relationship-driven, with a strong emphasis on building clean financial systems and acting as long-term strategic partners to our clients.</p> <h2><strong>Role Overview</strong></h2> <p>We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the accounting function across a group of related personal, investment, and operating entities. This role will oversee all bookkeeping, accounting, and financial reporting, while managing a small team of bookkeepers and serving as the primary financial point of contact for the family office.</p> <p>This role functions as the financial backbone of the organization — responsible for clean books, strong controls, high-quality reporting, and seamless coordination with external advisors. The ideal candidate is highly organized, discreet, judgment-oriented, and comfortable operating in a multi-entity, high-trust environment.</p> <p>This is a hands-on leadership role: you will both do and review the work.</p> <h2><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2> <h3><strong>Accounting Leadership &amp; Team Management</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Own the accounting function across entities</li> <li>Manage and oversee bookkeepers</li> <li>Assign work, set standards, and review outputs for quality and accuracy</li> <li>Ensure consistent accounting policies and documentation across entities</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Accounting &amp; Bookkeeping Oversight</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple entities (LLCs, holding companies, trusts, SPVs, personal entities)</li> <li>Review general ledgers and ensure transactions are properly recorded and classified</li> <li>Maintain clean, accurate books in QuickBooks (or similar systems)</li> <li>Serve as escalation point for complex or judgment-based accounting issues</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Cash Management &amp; Controls</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Track and reconcile cash across numerous bank and credit card accounts</li> <li>Manage intercompany transactions, loans, reimbursements, capital contributions, and distributions</li> <li>Implement and maintain strong cash controls and approval processes</li> <li>Proactively monitor balances and flag anomalies</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Month-End Close &amp; Reporting</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Lead month-end close.</li> <li>Prepare and review financial reporting, including:</li> <ul> <li>Balance sheets and income statements</li> <li>Cash flow and liquidity summaries</li> <li>Consolidated and roll-up views</li> <li>Net worth reporting (as needed)</li> </ul> <li>Ensure accuracy, consistency, and comparability over time</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Systems &amp; Process Development</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Design and maintain accounting infrastructure and workflows</li> <li>Improve documentation, internal controls, and reporting processes</li> <li>Help scale systems as the family office grows</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Ideal Candidate Profile</strong></h2> <h3><strong>Experience</strong></h3> <ul> <li>3+ years of experience in Accounting manager or Controller-level roles</li> <li>Prior experience managing bookkeepers or accounting teams</li> <li>Experience in working with multiple clients.</li> <li>Familiarity with trusts and estate structures highly desirable</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Skills &amp; Attributes</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Deep technical accounting knowledge and strong QuickBooks experience</li> <li>Excellent reviewer mindset — spots errors, inconsistencies, and risks quickly</li> <li>Highly organized, detail-oriented, and systems-focused</li> <li>High level of discretion and professionalism</li> <li>Strong judgment and comfort operating with ambiguity</li> <li>Comfortable owning outcomes, not just executing tasks</li> </ul> <h3>&nbsp;</h3>
