At BridgeBio, we value curiosity and experimentation—including the ethical & thoughtful use of AI to improve clarity, speed, and quality of work. </div><h3>What You'll Do</h3> The Accounting Manager (Clinical) is an integral part of a growing accounting team and plays a critical role in responsible for the R&D related accounting close process primarily focused in clinical accounting. This position will collaborate extensively with CROs, Clinical Operations, Outsourcing and  Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to ensure timely and accurate reporting of clinical costs. The candidate will possess a deep understanding of the clinical trial process and proactively  identify potential gaps to ensure accuracy and completeness and resolve discrepancies. Also, this individual will actively be involve in the implementation of new systems and tools that enhances financial reporting and clinical cost tracking, contributing directly to operational excellence and scalability as the company grows. <h3>Responsibilities</h3> <ul> <li>Assist in managing the month end and quarter accounting close activities for clinical related R&D accruals.</li> <li>Own the preparation and maintenance of monthly clinical tracker, ensuring expenses, prepayments and deposits, and accrual accountsare accurately captured timely</li> <li>Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and related supporting workpapers in accordance with US GAAP and comply with our internal SOX requirements</li> <li>Review the CRO budget tracker and incorporate appropriate estimates provided by CRO into in the clinical tracker and ensure alignment with contractual obligations and study progress</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Analyze  contracts are reflected in the proper POs, budgets, and/or work orders to determine the appropriate accounting treatments</li> <li>Ensure invoices are recorded accurately against the appropriate POs, relevant budgets, and/or work orders.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Prepare R&D Clinical fluctuation analysis and report on R&D clinical spend by subsidiaries, programs, phases as well as any other related account level analysis requested by management</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Maintain regular communication with Clinical Operations to share financial findings and validate accrual assumptions, ensuring alignment with study progress and operational expectations</li> <li>Participate in regular meetings with CRO and Clinical Operations teams to support a timely and transparent month-end close process <ul> <li>Assist on special projects and/or ad hoc requests, as needed</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <h3>Where You'll Work</h3> This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration 2-3x per week in our San Francisco Office. <h3>Who You Are</h3> <ul> <li>BA/BS degree in accounting or finance;  CPA or CMA is preferred.</li> <li>7+ years of progressive accounting experience in a publicly traded company with Biotech/Pharma Industry <ul> <li>Highly preferred: combination of big 4 experience auditing R&D accounts in Biotech/Pharma clients and/or hands-on clinical accounting experience in the biotech/pharma industry</li> </ul> </li> <li>Proficiency in financial systems including  SAP (or similar ERP systems such as Oracle and Netsuite), Coupa, and process advance Microsoft Excel skills (such as pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, INDEX/MATCH, nested formulas)   </li> <li>Ability to interpret and analyze complex Clinical vendor contracts and apply accounting judgment according to US GAAP</li> <li>Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines</li> <li>Working knowledge of AI tools and technologies, with the ability to leverage them to automate processes and drive operational efficiencies, Self motivated and results-driven individual with strong work ethic who thrives in a fast paced, complex environment handling different R&D (including clinical stage) programs across various affiliates</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to collaborate effectively cross-functionally with Outsourcing,  Clinical Operations, FP&A and the business owners</li> </ul>  <div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><div> <div>At BridgeBio, we strive to provide a market-competitive total rewards package, including base pay, an annual performance bonus, company equity, and generous health benefits. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, educational background, location of residence and performance during the interview process.
