Whop has built a $2 billion GMV (gross merchandise value) business since 2021 - achieving $1B GMV in their first 4 years, then $2B GMV in the last 6 months.</p> <p>For more information, visit&nbsp;<a href="http://whop.com/">whop.com</a>.</p> <p><strong>Job Description</strong></p> <p>Whop is are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to take ownership of and play a key role in managing the company’s accounts payable function.</p> <p>Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, you will be a critical part of the team transforming Whop’s finance function into a disciplined, scalable operation. This is an ideal role for a high-potential accountant who possesses exceptional attention to detail and thrives in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.</p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p> <p><strong>Core Accounting Operations</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice entry, coding, approval routing, and payment processing</li> <li>Review invoices for accuracy, proper documentation, and alignment with company policies</li> <li>Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner</li> <li>Prepare weekly payment runs (ACH, checks, wires) in Ramp</li> <li>Assist with expense reports and ensure compliance with expense policies</li> <li>Maintain vendor files, W-9s, and ensure up-to-date records for 1099 processing</li> <li>Support month-end close by preparing AP accruals and account reconciliations</li> <li>Collaborate with procurement, operations, and finance teams to resolve invoice or PO issues</li> <li>Assist in process improvements and AP automation initiatives</li> <li>Support audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries</li> <li>Create clear documentation, controls, and scalable processes to support long-term success</li> <li>Act as a strategic partner while permanent AP leadership is being identified and onboarded</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)</li> <li>2–4+ years of AP experience</li> <li>Strong understanding of the full AP cycle</li> <li>Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks)</li> <li>Ramp experience a plus</li> <li>Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs preferred)</li> <li>Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines</li> <li>Excellent communication skills and a service-oriented mindset</li> </ul> <p><strong>MILESTONE OUTCOMES</strong></p> <ul> <li>First 90 Days: Take full ownership of the Accounts Payable function; help establish the first accounting infrastructure and month-end close cadence.</li> </ul> <p>The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000 annually, with final compensation determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.</p>
