The Capitol Zoning District Commission is the only zoning and preservation commission in Arkansas of its kind. This position will assist the public in applying to Capitol Zoning for permits to improve, progress, maintain, and develop residential and business properties in the district. 

Excellent oral and written communication is essential. Strong customer service and organizational skills are needed daily in this position. The ability to stay on tasks and meet deadlines is critical.  A staff report must be assembled from an application, by doing research, having phone and email contact with the applicant, and reaching out to other government entities, for information.

The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism has three major divisions: Arkansas State Parks, Arkansas Heritage and Arkansas Tourism. Arkansas State Parks manages 52 state parks and promotes Arkansas as a tourist destination for people around the country. Arkansas Heritage preserves and promotes Arkansas’s natural and cultural history and heritage through four historic museums and four cultural preservation agencies.
