<p><strong>FLSA Status:</strong> Exempt<br><strong>Department:</strong> Inside Sales<br><strong>Location:</strong> Chandler, AZ<br><strong>Compensation:</strong> $60,000 – $78,000 (Based on Experience)</p>
<p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p>
<p>The Sales Applications Specialist is responsible for driving revenue growth by supporting customers with technically accurate quotes, solutions, and product recommendations for complex cable assembly and interconnect applications.</p>
<p>This role sits at the intersection of sales and engineering, acting as a key liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood, quoted accurately, and executed to specification.</p>

<p>The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working with drawings, specifications, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p><strong>Technical Sales & Quoting</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Review customer RFQs, drawings, and specifications to develop accurate and competitive quotes</li>
<li>Interpret technical requirements and collaborate with engineering and production to ensure feasibility</li>
<li>Recommend product solutions, materials, and configurations based on customer needs</li>
<li>Support pricing strategy by understanding labor, materials, and manufacturing processes</li>
<li>Follow up on quotes to drive conversion and revenue growth</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Customer Engagement</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned customers, providing both commercial and technical support</li>
<li>Manage inbound and outbound communications to identify needs and generate opportunities</li>
<li>Communicate lead times, order status, and technical clarifications clearly and proactively</li>
<li>Build strong customer relationships through responsiveness and problem-solving</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Cross-Functional Collaboration</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Partner closely with engineering, quality, production, and purchasing teams to align on customer requirements</li>
<li>Support resolution of technical questions, discrepancies, and quality concerns</li>
<li>Ensure all customer requirements are properly documented and communicated internally</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Continuous Improvement & Development</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Build knowledge of cable assemblies, interconnect systems, and applicable industry standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, etc.)</li>
<li>Identify opportunities to improve quoting accuracy, turnaround time, and customer experience</li>
<li>Participate in ongoing training to strengthen both technical and sales capabilities</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Administrative & Reporting</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Maintain accurate records of quotes, orders, and customer interactions in CRM/ERP systems</li>
<li>Support reporting, forecasting, and pipeline tracking as needed</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p>
<p><strong>Education</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent required</li>
<li>Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field preferred (not required)</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Experience</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>2+ years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or quoting role</li>
<li>Experience in manufacturing, aerospace/defense, or technical sales strongly preferred</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Knowledge & Skills</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, or specifications (preferred)</li>
<li>Strong problem-solving mindset with mechanical or technical aptitude</li>
<li>Understanding of manufacturing processes or willingness to learn quickly</li>
<li>Experience with CRM/ERP systems and Microsoft Office</li>
<li>Strong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts clearly</li>
<li>High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Work Environment & Physical Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Primarily office-based with regular interaction on the production floor</li>
<li>Occasional exposure to a manufacturing environment</li>
</ul>
