Position Overview

Our Agent in Training Program is designed for motivated sales professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs who want a clear path to Farmers Insurance Agency Ownership. This role provides hands-on experience in insurance sales, client relationship management, business development, and agency operations while preparing you to become a successful agency owner.
As an Agent in Training, you'll receive industry-leading training, mentorship, and support while developing the skills needed to grow a profitable insurance agency.
Requirements
- Develop and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients
- Generate new business through networking, referrals, prospecting, and community engagement
- Identify client needs and recommend customized insurance and financial protection solutions
- Educate customers on Farmers Insurance products and services, including Auto, Home, Life, Business, and Specialty insurance
- Conduct policy reviews and provide ongoing customer support
- Meet and exceed individual sales and performance goals
- Learn agency operations, marketing, business management, and leadership skills
- Participate in ongoing professional development, coaching, and licensing programs
- Build a strong local presence and contribute to the growth of the Farmers brand within the community
- Qualifications
- Proven track record of success in sales, business development, or client acquisition, whether in insurance, financial services, real estate, retail, or other performance-driven industries
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships, identify customer needs, and close business in a consultative sales environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire for business ownership, independence, and financial growth
- Self-motivated, competitive, and goal-oriented with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture
- Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-up skills
- Property & Casualty and Life & Health licenses preferred; candidates must currently hold or be willing to obtain licenses (training, support, and licensing fees provided)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
