The ideal candidate brings deep accounting expertise alongside a builder’s mindset for AI-enabled service delivery, and has worked at or with early-stage start-ups.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <h3><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Client Accounting &amp; Professional Services (40%)</span></h3> <ul> <li>Produce monthly financial statements and budget vs. actual analysis.</li> <li>Assist with financial modeling and forecasting for clients.</li> <li>Manage Accounts Receivable — including invoicing, collections, and reviewing contracts.</li> <li>Manage Accounts Payable — ensuring accurate entry, timely payment, and compliance with company policies.</li> <li>Process employee onboarding, payroll, and terminations.</li> <li>Manage cash and assist with the creation of departmental budgets and forecasts.</li> <li>Support tax compliance and the development of accounting policies and procedures.</li> <li>Mentor and train future team members.</li> </ul> <h3><span style="text-decoration: underline;">AI &amp; Workflow Innovation (60%)</span></h3> <p><strong>AI Implementation &amp; Project Management:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Serve as the primary owner for implementing AI tools and workflow automation initiatives across Attivo from strategy through deployment.</li> <li>Lead internal stakeholder meetings to assess operational pain points and prioritize AI use cases.</li> <li>Develop and manage detailed AI implementation project plans, timelines, and milestone tracking.</li> <li>Act as the first line of communication for AI-related questions, troubleshooting, and workflow optimization.</li> <li>Ensure clarity of scope, ownership, governance, and measurable outcomes across teams.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Generative AI &amp; Knowledge System Development:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and implement an internal AI-powered chat and knowledge interface.</li> <li>Integrate internal documentation, playbooks, SOPs, and prior client deliverables into a searchable AI-enabled system.</li> <li>Develop structured prompt libraries and templates for accounting, finance, and client-response workflows.</li> <li>Continuously optimize response accuracy, usability, and speed.</li> </ul> <p><strong>AI-Enabled Workflow Design &amp; Automation:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Identify high-friction accounting and finance processes suitable for AI augmentation.</li> <li>Design and deploy AI-enabled workflows (e.g., onboarding support, close assistance, reconciliation review, technical research acceleration).</li> <li>Build repeatable automation templates for internal and client-facing use.</li> <li>Ensure AI workflows integrate effectively with core systems (ERP, CRM, document management tools).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Data Integrity, Governance &amp; Process Development:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Review AI platform documentation and training materials to ensure alignment with best practices.</li> <li>Document weekly learnings, experimentation results, implementation challenges, and resolution strategies.</li> <li>Develop Attivo’s internal AI implementation playbook, including AI opportunity identification frameworks, workflow automation standards, prompt engineering and template libraries, QA and validation protocols, governance and risk guidelines, and troubleshooting documentation.</li> <li>Build scalable SOPs and training resources to enable broader team adoption.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Measurement &amp; Continuous Improvement:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Establish performance metrics for AI initiatives (response time, efficiency gains, error reduction, adoption rates).</li> <li>Develop dashboards or reporting mechanisms to track ROI and firm-wide impact.</li> <li>Deliver regular updates to leadership on AI experimentation, results, and expansion opportunities.</li> <li>Continuously refine workflows based on usage data and stakeholder feedback.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Solid understanding of GAAP; CPA preferred.</li> <li>Advanced+ Excel.</li> <li>Experience with standard accounting and finance software solutions: QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Campfire, Brex, Ramp, Rippling, Gusto, Rillet, Puzzle, etc..</li> <li>Strong understanding of accounting and finance operations and modern accounting technology stacks.</li> <li>Ability to translate AI capabilities into practical workflow applications.</li> <li>Experience leading cross-functional technology or systems implementations.</li> <li>High attention to detail with strong validation and quality control capabilities.</li> <li>Exceptional organizational and documentation skills with the ability to transform experimentation into scalable process.</li> <li>Ability to manage ambiguity in an evolving AI landscape and proactively solve complex operational challenges.</li> <li>Comfortable serving as a strategic and technical lead across internal and client-facing initiatives.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.</li> <li>Independent judgment and decision-making.</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.</li> <li>Professional curiosity and creativity.</li> <li>Passionate desire to learn and pursue continuous improvement.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. CPA preferred.</li> <li>7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.</li> <li>5+ years of experience in accounting, finance operations, consulting, or systems implementation (may overlap with accounting experience).</li> <li>Experience working in a fast-paced technology or professional services environment.</li> <li>Experience implementing workflow automation or AI-enabled tools preferred.
