About the role

The Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA) invites applications for the post of Airport Operations Duty Officer at the Charles Kirkconnell International Airport (CKIA), Cayman Brac. 


The successful post holder will join a team responsible for overseeing and inspecting airport airside operations, including the monitoring of apron management and apron safety activities.


In the role, the post holder performs inspections of airport airside air navigation facilities including aircraft aprons, taxiways, runways, vehicle service roads, lighting, and obstacle limitation surfaces, while monitoring airside personnel, vehicles and equipment, terminal building departure gate assignments, and apron stand allocations to assure airport operations are safe, efficient and compliant with airport policies, procedures and ICAO airport standards.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • At a minimum, an Associate Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • A keen interest in aviation and the challenges of a fast-paced, evolving aviation environment
  • Will be required to undergo and successfully complete formal and on-the-job training in specific Airport Operations subjects, Safety Management Systems, and other professional development programmes

  • Ability to write clearly and concisely to present and articulate verbal reports/presentations
  • Commitment to continuous learning
  • Ability to function in a team environment
  • Intermediate IT Literacy in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to establish and maintain partnership with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to use contemporary office automation equipment, software and databases
  • Must be able to work on a rotating shift basis, inclusive of weekends and public holidays

 

Salary and benefits: Salary range is CI$52,296.00 - $70,344.00 and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include a contributory pension plan, paid vacation, health insurance and professional development opportunities.
