About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in inspiring a love of food and cooking within a dedicated team. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and stimulating Food Technology lessons across the curriculum, equipping students with essential culinary skills and promoting healthy eating habits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging Food Technology lessons for Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Foster a creative and practical learning environment in the kitchen, encouraging students to explore diverse culinary techniques and cuisines.
  • Develop and implement innovative curriculum initiatives that align with the school's vision and the latest advancements in food education.
  • Ensure a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students, promoting teamwork and fostering a love of learning in the kitchen.
  • Play an active role in the department, including contributing to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and departmental meetings.
  • Participate in whole-school events and initiatives, fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider school community.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified Food Technology Teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and developing their culinary skills.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for food, cooking, and promoting healthy eating habits.
  • Strong pedagogical skills with the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and safe learning environment in the kitchen.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • A willingness to be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the ongoing development of the department.
