We are now looking for an AML/CTF Compliance Officer to drive local implementation of our compliance framework and strengthen internal controls in line with Australian regulatory expectations.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li><strong>About the Role</strong> <ul> <li>The AML/CTF Compliance Officer will be the officially designated individual responsible for overseeing Toss AU's compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (AML/CTF Act) and associated AML/CTF Rules.</li> <li> <p class="p1">This role carries real authority and accountability — you will have direct access to senior management and the Board, the ability to enforce AML/CTF requirements across the organization, and operational independence to make risk-based decisions. You will act as the primary liaison with AUSTRAC and ensure Toss AU's AML/CTF program remains effective, risk-appropriate, and audit-ready.</p> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li><strong>What You'll Work On</strong><br> <ul class="ul1"> <li class="li1"><span class="s2">AML Program Ownership</span> <ul class="ul1"> <li class="li1">Own and maintain Toss AU's AML/CTF Program in accordance with the AML/CTF Act and AUSTRAC Rules</li> <li class="li1">Conduct and maintain the Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment to reflect the current risk environment</li> <li class="li1">Develop and maintain AML/CTF policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with the nature and scale of Toss AU's business</li> </ul> </li> <li class="li1"><span class="s2">Customer Due Diligence</span> <ul class="ul1"> <li class="li1">Oversee CDD/EDD processes and ensure they are applied appropriately across customer segments</li> <li class="li1">Maintain oversight of customer risk rating methodology and escalation workflows for high-risk cases</li> </ul> </li> <li class="li1"><span class="s2">Transaction Monitoring &amp; Reporting</span> <ul class="ul1"> <li class="li1">Oversee transaction monitoring systems, <span class="s3">rule management</span>, alert thresholds, and investigation workflows</li> <li class="li1">Make independent decisions on SMRs and ensure timely filing of SMRs via AUSTRAC Online</li> <li class="li1">Maintain records in line with AUSTRAC record-keeping obligation</li> </ul> </li> <li class="li1"><span class="s2">Sanctions Compliance</span> <ul class="ul1"> <li class="li1">Oversee sanctions screening against DFAT, UN, OFAC, and EU consolidated lists</li> <li class="li1">Maintain sanctions-related policies and act as the designated sanctions implementation officer</li> </ul> </li> <li class="li1"><span class="s2">Governance &amp; Oversight</span> <ul class="ul1"> <li class="li1">Report directly to the CEO and Board on program performance, emerging risks, and regulatory developments</li> <li class="li1">Coordinate annual independent reviews and design and deliver AML/CTF training for relevant staff</li> <li class="li1"><span class="s3">Conduct and maintain the annual Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment and use its outcomes to prepare and submit the annual AML/CTF Compliance Report to AUSTRAC in a timely manner.</span></li> <li class="li2"><span class="s3">Ensure timely reporting and escalation to global HQ on material AML/CTF matters, emerging risks, and issues requiring coordination or support.</span></li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong> <ul> <li>Must-Have <ul> <li class="li1">Australian resident (legally required under the AML/CTF Act)</li> <li class="li1">7+ years of AML/CTF experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior compliance role within a reporting entity</li> <li class="li1">Strong working knowledge of the AML/CTF Act 2006 and AUSTRAC regulatory expectations</li> <li class="li1">Proven experience filing SMRs and maintaining AML/CTF programs</li> <li class="li1">Independent judgment with the confidence to escalate or block without deference to commercial pressure</li> <li class="li1">Strong communication skills, including AUSTRAC engagement and Board-level reporting</li> <li class="li1">CAMS</li> </ul> </li> <li>Preferred <ul> <li class="li1">Experience in a fintech, digital wallet, or payments environment</li> <li class="li1">Familiarity with DFAT sanctions regime and cross-border payments compliance</li> <li class="li1">Experience responding to or preparing for regulatory examinations or supervisory reviews by AUSTRAC or equivalent authorities</li> <li class="li1">Experience collaborating with a global HQ AML/compliance team in a multi-jurisdictional environment</li> </ul> </li> <li>Personal Attributes <ul> <li>High ownership mindset with strong prioritization and independent judgment</li> <li>Demonstrated integrity, honesty, and soundness of judgment in prior roles</li> <li>Clean regulatory and supervisory record — no adverse findings, serious convictions, or unresolved conflicts of interest (fit and proper standard per AUSTRAC requirements)</li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li><strong>What We Offer</strong> <ul> <li>A high-impact regulatory role shaping Toss’s AML/CTF foundation for our Australian expansion.</li> <li>Opportunity to build the AML function from zero to full launch and contribute to overall governance.</li> <li>Close collaboration with senior teams at our Korea headquarters on key regulatory and operational decisions.</li> <li>Competitive compensation package.</li> <li>Flexible and supportive work environment.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li><strong>Hiring Process</strong> <ul> <li class="li1">Two functional interviews (AML expertise, regulatory handling, execution capability)</li> <li class="li1">Two culture fit interviews (e.g., corporate values, culture fit, way of working)</li> <li class="li2">While the final in-person meeting may be required before confirmation of the job offer, all other interview processes will be conducted virtually.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li><strong>Please Note</strong> <ul> <li>Pre-employment checks such as a police check and financial bankruptcy will be conducted.</li> </ul> </li> </ul>
