Architectural Technologist

On a typical day as our Architectural Technologist, you will:

• Demonstrate a deep understanding of architectural and structural drawings.  
• Develop structural design drawings according to Summerwood's design specifications.   
• Complete order assessments to determine the scope of the project.
• Prepare full sets of construction drawings that are clear, accurate, comprehensive, and consistent.
• Provide shop drawings for production.
• Revise drawings based on changes requested by the client and feedback from engineers, plan examiners, contractors, and the production manager.
• Engage in ongoing continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.  
• Attend to other related new projects as required. 

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or a degree from an architectural technology program.
• 3+ years of professional experience in design and wood frame construction.
• BCIN certification is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes, zoning regulations, and planning processes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with clients, contractors, engineers, and colleagues.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 annually (based on experience)Annual bonus potential based on mutually defined KPIs. Please submit a cover letter, resume, and relevant samples of your work.
