About the role

We are currently working with a highly-regarded, mixed comprehensive school in the London Borough of Ealing that is seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic English Teacher to cover a maternity leave, starting immediately. The Role:

  • Full-time maternity cover: This position is to cover a maternity leave, starting immediately, and is expected to last for the full academic year.
  • Teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4: You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English lessons to students of mixed abilities, inspiring a love of literature and language.
  • Potential for TLR: For experienced candidates with a proven track record of leadership and a desire to take on additional responsibilities, a TLR (Teaching and Learning Responsibility) may be available. This could involve leading on a key area within the English department, such as KS3 coordination, literacy intervention, or GCSE coursework support.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): You must hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification recognized in the UK.
  • Strong subject knowledge: Possess excellent knowledge of the English curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to differentiate effectively to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Passion for English: Demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for your subject and a commitment to inspiring students to achieve their full potential.
  • Excellent classroom management skills: Create a positive and engaging learning environment where all students feel supported and challenged.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented: Be willing to contribute to the wider English department and school community.
