About the role
What you will be expected to do:
1. Area Trade Developer(ATDs) Agents Recruitment & Onboarding
- Identify, recruit, and onboard new phone-selling ATD Agents (Retailers) within the assigned area.
- Conduct field-based training on product knowledge, pricing, QoS commission plans, and sales processes.
2. Inventory Management
- Forecast demand to minimise stockouts at retail shops.
- Coordinate with the assigned Sun King shop (AHQ) for inventory replenishment.
- Ensure safe and timely delivery of smartphone stock to new and existing ATD Agents.
- Oversee and enforce proper stock handling processes in line with Sun King standards.
3. Agent Productivity & Sales Targets
- Drive daily, weekly, and monthly phone sales targets (units and revenue) per ATD Agent.
- Guide ATD Agents to improve sales volumes for each phone model.
- Coach and develop underperforming agents through tailored action plans to improve performance.
4. Portfolio Quality & Repayment Management
- Ensure agents follow correct customer registration and PayGo activation procedures.
- Monitor repayment trends and engage agents showing high default risk.
- Coordinate phone replacement and warranty processes at ATD Agent level to address customer complaints and strengthen collections performance.
5. Agent Engagement & Branding
- Distribute and maintain branding materials (posters, umbrellas, signage, uniforms, etc.) at every agent location.
- Conduct weekly and monthly one-on-one meetings with ATD Agents to review performance, discuss improvement areas, and share updates.
- Ensure agents maintain minimum stock levels per product and comply with inventory reconciliation procedures.
6. Local Trade Activations
- Plan and execute daily localized activities (roadshows, market demos, door-to-door)in coordination with the marketing team.
- Identify high-footfall locations for temporary activation in peri-urban/rural areas.
- Recommend agents for rewards/campaigns based on sales and repayment performance.
7. Reporting & Administration
- Update trackers and tickets daily with agent visit logs, sales, and stock replenishment.
- Prepare weekly territory performance report (sales by model, active agents and onboardings).
- Flag stock shortages, fraud risks, or operational blockers to PayGo Sales Manager.
You might be a strong candidate if you;
- Hold a diploma or degree in a business-related field with at least three years of experience in field sales within FMCG, microfinance, mobile money, or telecommunications industries.
- Have experience in recruiting, managing, and developing independent agents, merchants, or micro-distributors.
- Possess strong knowledge of the assigned territory, including urban, peri-urban, and rural markets, with the ability to build community trust.
- Are proficient in using Android smartphones, CRM systems, Microsoft Excel, WhatsApp, and other basic reporting tools.
- Are willing to work extensively in the field and demonstrate the ability to resolve operational and customer-related issues effectively.
