About the role
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a wide range of internal inventory support activities including maintaining the accuracy of the company’s products. The job involves checking the figures, postings and documents to ensure arithmetic accuracy and proper coding of all products and assisting in the effective controls of both the physical and electronic tracking system.
- Updating pricing, stock descriptions, barcodes, etc.
- Creating of item codes, unit of measure, and descriptions on new products and confirming stock matches these at the receipting stage. Updating any changes to stock descriptions and unit of measure issued for existing stock
- Verifying of receiving book discrepancies and processing into the Syspro system
- Generating and reviewing reports that reconcile system inventory to physical counts and reporting errors.
- Conducting cycle counts within the warehouses on a quarterly rotatory basis
- Conducting month-end counts of van salesmen warehouses
- Randomly conducting an accurate manual count of any stock within any warehouse
- Transferring stock between warehouses
- Checking expiration dates on stock in the warehouses and inspecting for other inventory issues that might impact sale ability
- Confirming the veracity of stock adjustments and process in the Syspro system. This includes but is not limited to movements of stock through adjustments, cost changes, cost modifications, and write-offs
- Reporting and addressing any inventory issues related to shortages, overages, mis shelved stock, incorrect lots, expired stock, and damaged stock items.
- Monitoring and documenting stock leaving the premises for banding, and any stock returned
- Provide support and assistance to the Accountant in inventory functions
- Performs any other related duties as may be assigned.
Qualification, Experience and Requirements:
- A minimum of one (1) years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles, including stock receiving, storage, stock rotation, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation.
- Proficiency in using inventory management systems, warehouse management software, and Microsoft Excel for data entry, reporting, and record maintenance.
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy, with the ability to identify discrepancies, investigate variances, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Good analytical skills
