Assistant Construction Manager

Position Overview:

The Assistant Construction Manager is a key member of the Construction team and works cross-functionally with the Property Management team.  This role oversees the construction process for tenant improvement work and handles various constructions projects across the Sea Breeze Properties portfolio.  A successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial atmosphere.

 

 

Role Responsibilities and Duties:

●      Works with the Director of Construction in whatever capacity is needed.

●      Responsible for the direct oversight of all tenant Improvement construction work

●      Participates in all vertical construction components.

●      Participates in OAC meetings.

●      Liaises with the Property Management and Facilities management team in all construction/maintenance work for capital improvements.

●      Works with the construction team in the management of multiple and varied commercial improvement projects.

Works with Tenants and Designers

●      Works with local agencies for plan review and permits.

●      Participates in various projects along with the Construction Manager, Property Manager, and other Development team members.

●      Other job-related duties as requested.

 

Qualifications for the Role

●      Minimum 3 years of work experience in construction and/or architectural fields.

●      Proficiency in Excel and Bluebeam.

●      Excellent attention to detail and highly organized.

●      Self-initiator with minimal supervision.

●      Deadline driven.

●      Ability to solve problems and follow through on tasks to completion.

●      Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively, flexibility, and responsibly.

●      Strong written and verbal communication skills.

●      Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to stay calm, composed and professional when working under pressure or in challenging situations.

 

 

●      Construction cost estimating knowledge and experience is a plus.

●      Must have a clean driving record and adequate auto insurance coverage.

●      Health insurance coverage is offered per company policy. The company will pay total premium costs associated with coverage of the base level Blue Shield or Kaiser plan, with the option to buy up for other available plans, with both HMO and PPO options.
