Assistant Director, Marketing

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic arts, public relations, public administration or closely related field or similar field and a minimum of 3 years of marketing-related experience.  A master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 3-5 years experience in marketing, web design, and technical writing equivalent work experience.  Two years or more supervisory experience in a higher education marketing environment is preferred.
• Strong computer skills and substantial knowledge of MS Office and Google products are required. Demonstrated ability to work in a high-paced and challenging business environment.
• Must be able to write clear and concise copy and edit written material quickly and accurately.  Knowledge of MLA style and the AP Stylebook writing standards.
• Ability to supervise staff and delegate work effectively in a team environment. Supervisory experience should include evaluation, assessment, and motivation of marketing staff.
• Knowledge of current and online marketing strategies, social media platforms, web analytics and graphic design skills.
• Thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
• Proficiency with Content Management Systems.
• Work and communicate effectively with a widely diverse university community.
• Ability to effectively communicate with campus partners and a diverse community clientele. Proven knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required. 
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may require occasional nights and weekends.
