For more than 80 years, the nonprofit organization and its partners in advertising, media, marketing and tech have been behind some of the country's most iconic social impact campaigns – Smokey Bear,&nbsp;Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive Drunk, Tear the Paper Ceiling and many more.</span></p></div><p></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; color: rgb(52, 73, 94);"><strong>Job summary</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">The Ad Council is looking for an <span style="color: rgb(52, 73, 94);"><strong>Assistant</strong> <strong>Manager, Marketing &amp; Communications (Contract Employee)</strong></span> who will play a key role in creating, crafting and driving the overarching marketing and communications strategies for the Ad Council’s social impact campaigns.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">This position is perfect for someone who has strong written and oral communication skills, is a great project manager, has an appetite for learning the latest in social media, influencer and PR trends, thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys collaboration with cross-functional teammates and is passionate about social change.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; color: rgb(52, 73, 94);"><strong>Compensation and Length of Engagement</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">This is a contract employee role. This means that, while the position is at all times one of “at will employment”, the Ad Council anticipates at present that the employment length would be approximately 6 months with the possibility to extend the contract. The compensation for this position is $5,250 monthly (overtime eligible), paid semi-monthly. Contract employees will be eligible to participate in limited benefits and paid time off. We are also open to this being a remote position, though some travel may be required depending on location.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; color: rgb(52, 73, 94);"><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Assist the team in the development and implementation of integrated PR, social media and influencer programs (including managing external agencies and freelancers) designed to extend the reach of multiple social good efforts, including participating in&nbsp;brainstorms, drafting plans and project managing day-to-day implementation of tactics.</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Proactively update Ad Council colleagues and clients on public relations and social media activities, opportunities and strategies.&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Draft press releases, talking points, pitches, speeches, blog posts, social media posts, newsletters and other communications materials for external and internal audiences.&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Execute and project manage various campaign activations collaboratively, efficiently and transparently.</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Assist with day-to-day activities such as background research on reporters, influencers and potential partners or spokespeople.&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Various administrative duties including processing SOWs, tracking billings, inbox management etc<em>.</em></span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Occasional travel to support in-person campaign launches, thought leadership opportunities, content shoots, annual fundraiser and team gatherings/events.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; color: rgb(52, 73, 94);"><strong>What You’ll Bring</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">1+ years’ experience in public relations, social media, corporate communications, journalism or another relevant role.&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Excellent verbal and written communication skills – can adjust copy to various audiences/media.</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">PR and Social Media – fluency with public relations tactics and deliverables as well as social strategies across a range of platforms.</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Keen strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Great self-management ability – organized and detail-oriented with a capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, deadline-driven environment.</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Team player – ability to work collaboratively with direct and cross functional teams.</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
