Assistant Resident Engineer

We’re a nationally recognized, award-winning architecture, engineering, and construction firm known for a dynamic company culture that fosters innovation and challenges the status quo, and we’re looking for a talented professional to join our team.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><u>ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Coordinate and communicate with various project stakeholders to ensure project success</li> <li>Composure and diplomatic problem solving</li> <li>Analyze applicable codes, standards, and specifications for compliance</li> <li>Perform general field inspection of Road and Bridge Construction</li> <li>Measure, calculate, and report installed quantities</li> <li>Oversee materials sampling and testing schedules</li> <li>Monitor and analyze progress of contractor’s work</li> <li>Maintain various reports</li> <li>Monitor and lead inspection team</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>BACKGROUND &amp; EXPERIENCE EXPECTATIONS:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar Engineering Field</li> <li>4+ years’ experience working with Chicago DOT, IDOT, Illinois Tollway, or comparable transportation agencies</li> <li>Certifications, including IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities</li> <li>Transportation design experience is a plus</li> <li>Experience on transit and/or utility projects is a plus</li> <li>Coachable and a sense of humor</li> <li>Comfortable taking initiative and exercising professional judgement</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Salary Range</strong>: $90,000 - $140,000.
