About the role
<p><strong>Assistant Restaurant Manager reporting to the General Manager for our location in the Wellington Green Commons.</strong></p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p>
<p style="line-height: 1;">Under the direction of the General Manager, the Restaurant Manager supports the management</p>
<p style="line-height: 1;">team to ensure the execution of standards and the outcome of company goals within a TooJay’s</p>
<p style="line-height: 1;">restaurant. This position requires the ability to motivate and train team members to meet the</p>
<p style="line-height: 1;">Guest’s expectations.</p>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>High school diploma and 1-2 years of experience in a restaurant or related field</li>
<li>Current Manager Serve Safe Certification or ability to obtain it by end of training</li>
<li>Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance and a driving history</li>
<li>acceptable to the company</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Flexible and long hours required at times. Managers are scheduled based on a 55 hour work</li>
<li>week</li>
<li>Medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force</li>
<li>frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects</li>
<li>Able to stand during entire shift</li>
<li>Capable to maneuver throughout the dining and kitchen area throughout the shift</li>
<li>Able to operate all front and back office computer systems and all office, cleaning, cooking</li>
<li>and food preparation equipment</li>
<li>Able to reach overhead, bend below the waist, crouch, lift, stand, sit, twist and communicate</li>

<p><strong>Job Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Manages the activities of the restaurant team; This includes candidate interviews, hiring, ongoing training and communication of performance standards to ensure complete job</li>
<li>knowledge and skill development of team members</li>
<li>Engages with Guests to create a personable and seamless experience. Uses all service related</li>
<li>feedback to continually improve service levels, drive overall Guest satisfaction, increase</li>
<li>return visits and reduce Guest complaints</li>
<li>Meets restaurant financial objectives by forecasting requirements, controlling food cost,</li>
<li>scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions</li>
<li>Partners with HR to ensure any termination of a team member is conducted with respect and</li>
<li>dignity after proper documentation which has given that team member the opportunity to</li>
<li>improve their behavior</li>
<li>Teaches, coaches and mentors others to maintain high standards. Establishes credibility</li>
<li>through competence, continuity and integrity</li>
<li>Has full knowledge of company regulations, policies, procedures, standards and goals.</li>
<li>Performs duties at any given time to ensure proper execution. Consistently displays drive,</li>
<li>energy and operates with a sense of urgency during each shift</li>
<li>Fosters open communication with management and team members</li>
<li>Effectively provides performance feedback through coaching and timely reviews</li>
<li>Conducts counseling sessions with team members using TooJay’s Problem/Solution Notice,</li>
<li>focusing on facts and respecting the dignity of the team member</li>
<li>Maintains cleanliness of the restaurant by inspecting and directing work actions of team</li>
<li>members</li>
<li>Ensures safety, sanitation and security guidelines are followed at all times and immediately</li>
<li>resolves any items identified through daily operational plan and flow charts; completes any</li>
<li>accident reports immediately and accurately; is responsive to any requests from Corporate</li>
<li>Risk Management</li>
<li>Communicates and enforces the priority of back door security</li>
<li>Maintains ambiance by controlling lighting, music, temperature, marketing displays and</li>
<li>cleanliness of small wares; ensures floors are clean, dry and free of debris throughout the</li>
<li>shift and dining room is clean and in good condition</li>
<li>Guarantees commitment to uniform and grooming standards for themselves and the team</li>
<li>Conducts motivating pre-shift meetings are conducted each shift and aligns with daily</li>
<li>operational plan and restaurant goals</li>
<li>Contributes at weekly management directional. Participates at all staff meetings and</li>
<li>facilitates departmental meetings when necessary</li>
<li>Monitors productivity of team throughout the shift</li>
<li>Reports to team members on financial results, guest feedback and controllable they impact</li>
<li>Recognizes and makes adjustments in staffing based on changing business levels using</li>
<li>labor matrix parameters</li>
<li>Maximizes profitability by ensuring accurate execution of recipes, Par levels and POS checks</li>
<li>Supports company initiatives by educating and training team members to achieve success</li>
<li>Follows all cash handling, house account, deposit and credit card policies. Reconciles comps,</li>
<li>voids, discounts and cash shortages and takes corrective action</li>
<li>Communicates to the General Manager on the status of their shifts; including financial</li>
<li>results, issues affecting guests or team members and individual achievements</li>
<li>Checks email daily and reacts appropriately to requests from the corporate office</li>
<li>Performs any other duties as requested by the Restaurant Support Center Team and/or</li>
<li>General Manager</li>
