As an AL Supervisor, you will play an important role in all phases of nursing care that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. Join our team and inspire happiness in the lives of others!  What you'll do: <ul> <li> <ul> <li>Performs timely and accurate resident assessments utilizing assessment tools, reports assessment to supervisor and charts in resident records. Monitor and ensure compliance with resident plan. Administers and supervises care prescribed by physicians. Participate in physician visits to residents, record visits in charts.</li> <li>Provides oversight of medication management to ensure MAR’s are correct and that the residents receive medications timely and accurately. Administers prescribed medication to residents. Works with consultant pharmacist as needed to ensure community maintains compliance. Manages pharmacy re-orders in ways that align with community policies and regulatory requirements.</li> <li>Makes daily rounds to observe delivery of services, resident status, meal service, meal service process and quality of care provided to residents. Engage in conversation with staff to share successes and opportunities for improvement, as needed. Demonstrate expected behaviors so staff have opportunities for visual and verbal learning.</li> <li>Maintain current proficient working knowledge of and comply with all local, state and federal licensing requirements; meet with managers regularly to review resident care. Maintain resident medical records and ensure charting is performed in a timely manner and in accordance with state regulations.</li> <li>Assist leadership in strategic planning and direction for nursing services operations; evaluate results, identify opportunities, initiate improvements, and measure performance against objectives.</li> <li>Administers intramuscular and subcutaneous injections; performs in-house testing procedures; takes and records vital signs.</li> <li>Assist in maintaining current health plans according to a schedule rotation and documenting acute episodes or significant changes in resident status.</li> <li>Participate in investigations following allegations of inappropriate behavior by staff. Assist associates to develop action plans to efficiently close skill gaps and to develop new skills. Assist associates to learn to exhibit 5STARS behaviors toward others.</li> <li>Provide support and provide care in Assisted Living and Memory Care as needed in addition to role in healthcare services including processing new admissions, blood sugar and insulin administration, and administration of narcotics.</li> <li>Provides timely and accurate communication to families to promote healthy relationships and to keep them informed about the resident’s condition and community events.</li> <li>Assist to create and plan work schedules for staff, assigning work duties while on shift and directing the work on a daily basis.</li> <li>Provide on-call backup to the community when not on duty. Responds to calls for assistance when not in the community. Maintains confidentiality of all HIPAA protected personal health information concerning residents and staff.</li> <li>Completes and ensures reports about incidents are promptly and accurately that state the matters related to the incident.</li> <li>Meet with director and participate in staff meetings to ensure staff perform at optimum level and incompliance with Buckner and regulatory requirements.</li> <li>Responsible for providing and/or ensuring staff are trained in CPR/BLS and certifications are current.</li> <li>Provide in-service training for staff for compliance with regulatory requirements. Monitor Dayforce for staff compliance with training requirements. Immediately address non-compliance with appropriate leadership and staff.</li> <li>Receive and/or place all calls to physicians and follow through with physician’s orders timely and accurately. Make appropriate staff aware of physician orders. Chart physician orders timely and accurately.</li> <li>Responsible for supervision, direct management, and administration of accurate preparation and administration of prescribed medications.</li> <li>Responsible for pharmacy orders for newly prescribed medications. Administer initial dose of all new medications and chart it timely and accurately.</li> <li>Serve as liaison between community and physicians regarding resident condition, change in condition, medication management and other pertinent information regarding resident health status.</li> <li>Order and maintain nursing supplies, monitor condition of medication room, cart and refrigerator for compliance with Buckner standards.</li> <li>Responsible for detailed evaluation of assigned residents, detailed charting of resident condition, medication administered, physician orders, and other clinical matters. Direct charting in resident records in accordance with community standards and policies, and regulatory requirements.</li> <li>Recognizes significant changes in the condition of the resident and takes necessary action.</li> <li>Professionally communicate with resident families and respond to questions or concerns.</li> </ul> </li> </ul>  What you’ll bring: <ul> <li data-leveltext="" data-font="Wingdings 2" data-listid="1" data-list-defn-props="{"335552541":1,"335559685":1440,"335559991":360,"469769226":"Wingdings 2","469769242":[8226],"469777803":"left","469777804":"","469777815":"hybridMultilevel"}" data-aria-posinset="8" data-aria-level="1">High School diploma or GED, plus one to two years of college or vocational school</li> <li data-leveltext="" data-font="Wingdings 2" data-listid="1" data-list-defn-props="{"335552541":1,"335559685":1440,"335559991":360,"469769226":"Wingdings 2","469769242":[8226],"469777803":"left","469777804":"","469777815":"hybridMultilevel"}" data-aria-posinset="8" data-aria-level="1">Requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing.  Must hold current Texas licensure as licensed vocational nurse (LVN).</li> <li data-leveltext="" data-font="Wingdings 2" data-listid="1" data-list-defn-props="{"335552541":1,"335559685":1440,"335559991":360,"469769226":"Wingdings 2","469769242":[8226],"469777803":"left","469777804":"","469777815":"hybridMultilevel"}" data-aria-posinset="8" data-aria-level="1">Requires ability to complete and/or meet training, certification required by TCSLC/Buckner and the State of Texas.  Previous experience in long term care preferred.</li> <li data-leveltext="" data-font="Wingdings 2" data-listid="1" data-list-defn-props="{"335552541":1,"335559685":1440,"335559991":360,"469769226":"Wingdings 2","469769242":[8226],"469777803":"left","469777804":"","469777815":"hybridMultilevel"}" data-aria-posinset="8" data-aria-level="1">Requires proficient working knowledge of safe nursing theory and practice; including acceptable knowledge and skills related to drugs, biological, physical, social, and medical sciences, and their application required. Working knowledge of infection control, universal precautions and OSHA standards required.</li> <li>Proficient working knowledge of principles and methods involved in in-service instruction of nursing and auxiliary personnel, in demonstrating techniques and methods of patient-care services, and in instruction of patient’s needs required.</li> <li>Professional aptitude and comprehension of medical diagnoses, procedures, and accepted medical treatment patterns required. Proficient working knowledge of procedures and techniques necessary to administer medication and treatment as prescribed by physician required.
