Overview
The Infusion Center at GSUH Cancer Institute is a 22 private and semi-private chair Infusion Center with a full-service infusion pharmacy and onsite laboratory treating patients in Oncology and Hematology. Infusion Center is a specialized outpatient setting where patients receive intravenous (IV), subcutaneous, and other infusion-based therapies such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologics, blood products, hydration and supportive medications for oncology, hematologic, and other complex medical conditions. Nursing plays a central role in the patient care within the infusion center. Infusion Nurses partner closely with Oncology Providers and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers, Pharmacists, Navigators and multidisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment, provide patient and family education, ensure safe efficient, and compassionate delivery of care in the outpatient setting.
Job Details
Oncology Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is responsible for providing day-to-day supervision and support of nursing and support staff. ANM will assist in overseeing daily patient care operations and workflow, including monitoring patient flow and staffing to ensure timely patient care delivery. In addition, ANM will provide support in safe administration of oncology, infusion and specialty therapies.
This role supports and promotes evidence-based practices, regulatory compliance, organizational policies, quality improvement imitative and patient safety.

- Maintain a safe environment by ensuring adherence to safety protocols
- Ensure compliance with oncology and infusion therapy standards, Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy administration competencies, policies and evidence-based oncology practice and regulatory agencies.
- Provide direct clinical support during patient care activities, including taking on active full patient assignments
- Serves as a resource to RNs, support staff, assisting with clinical decisions-making, escalation, and troubleshooting.
- Assist in daily staffing assignments, schedule adjustments, and resource allocation based on patient volume and acuity. Monitor patient flow, chair utilization and acuity to maintain safe and timely operations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary oncology team to improve patient outcomes and quality
- Partner with leadership to analyze trends and implement improvement plans
- Provide coaching, feedback, mentorship to nursing staff
Qualifications: Education & Certification
- 5+ years of clinical nursing experience
- 3+ years of Oncology nursing experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required (AHA)
- ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Required
- OCN Preferred (Required within 1 year of Hire)
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Education or Nursing related required. Master’s degree program preferred
- Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
- Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
Posted Salary Range
USD $59.39 - USD $76.07 /Hr.This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job, and it does not include the value of benefits.
