Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Auto Technician position is to upkeep all Company vehicles and provide proper servicing as needed.

 

Job Requirements

Basic Education

At least five years’ experience as a professional mechanic

Organizational, problem-solving skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

 

Responsibilities

1. Complete regular maintenance/servicing on machinery, systems, and automotive vehicles.
2. Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
3. Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.
4. Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures for vehicles.
5. Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.
6. Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades.
7. Monitor inventory and submit requests for new parts when necessary.
8. Maintain cleanliness or work space and area
9. Perform vehicle assessments and alert management on issues that will prohibit the vehicles from passing inspection.
10. Any other duties assigned by Management

• Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with employees and guests
• Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers and co-workers.

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste and smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• All island employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use/range of motion of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency.

Certification

Any automotive certification or certification in automotive technology.
