Job Summary:
Automotive Sales Associates are responsible for selling vehicles for personal and commercial use. Their duties include meeting with customers to discuss their needs, promoting sales offers at their dealership and participating in test drives with interested customers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Great customers arriving at the dealership
- Showcase the dealership’s vehicles and explain their features and warranties to customers
- Answer customers questions about vehicles, financing and the purchase process
- Accompany customers on test drives, collecting licenses and documentation beforehand per best practices
- Negotiate prices and trade-in values for customers’ vehicles
- Coordinate with the finance department to determine each customer’s financing and ownership options
- Contact past customers to ensure they are satisfied with their vehicles
- Generate new business leads
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills including active listening.
- Service-oriented and able quickly identify customer needs
- Ability to showcase vehicles to customers in a way that meets their needs
- Basic driving skills for accompanying customers on test drives
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Customer service or sales experience preferred.
- Valid driver license
- Minimum age requirement is 22
Physical Requirements:
- Long hours and weekends - Sales professionals may work 12 hour days especially toward the end of month or around promotional times. The dealerships are also open on Saturdays which can but one of the busiest sales business days.
- Standing and walking - Sales professional may spend a lot of time on their feet walking showroom floor and parking areas with customers.
- Mobility and good reaction times to be able to safely drive vehicles with customers.
- May lift or move promotional materials, typically not more than 10 lbs.
