Field Engineers will ensure that New Era Technology’s Standards are upheld on all AV and multimedia systems.</p> <p><strong>HIERARCHY:</strong> The <em>AV Field Engineer</em> reports directly to the Field Engineer Manager.</p> <p><strong>PRIMARY DUTIES:</strong> The <em>AV Field Engineer </em>shall be responsible for but not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Work with engineering team to complete drawing reviews</li> <li>Oversee and support multiple projects occurring simultaneously</li> <li>Review project requirements and schedule remote &amp; onsite support time to complete projects in timely fashion</li> <li>Support Project Managers and Engineers regarding project specific technical requirements</li> <li>Participate in engineering discussions</li> <li>QC systems installed by others (i.e. subcontractors, etc.)</li> <li>Train clients on use of AV Systems</li> <li>Support install team in installation of systems as needed</li> <li>Crimp, solder, wire pull, label, terminate, and other technical tasks associated with AV systems</li> <li>Fabricate AV systems in the field and inhouse as needed</li> <li>Stage AV systems in-house as needed</li> <li>Installing and labeling equipment into racks</li> <li>Dressing cables in racks, under tables, in credenzas, in lecterns/podiums etc.</li> <li>Labeling and Terminating cables both in and out of racks</li> <li>Documentation of equipment (i.e. Serial Numbers, MAC addresses, IP Addresses, etc.)</li> <li>Inventory control and Chain of Custody</li> <li>Read and markup project documents</li> <li>Maintain a clean and organized work area</li> <li>Configure, Load, test and troubleshoot control systems programming</li> <li>Write, load, and tweak DSP files</li> <li>Write, load, and test basic configurable systems</li> <li>Work closely with the programmer (whether in-house or sub-contractor)</li> <li>Troubleshoot and repair newly installed and existing custom AV systems</li> <li>Provide detailed daily reports of work completed and open Punch-List items</li> <li>Read, understand and follow any consultant documentation</li> <li>Use hand and power tools</li> <li>Safe use of ladders, scaffolding and lifts</li> <li>Lift heavy and bulky equipment</li> <li>Understand and meet all deadlines</li> <li>Resolve all customer service issues with management</li> <li>Maintain a professional appearance and attitude</li> <li>Work to achieve 100% customer satisfaction 100% of the time</li> <li>Full compliance with company’s policies and procedures</li> <li>Giving excellent customer service through a professional attitude</li> <li>Other duties as deemed necessary by management</li> <li>Minimum 30% overnight / travel required per year</li> </ul> <p><strong>COMPETENCY:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong client and service focused mindset, demonstrate excellent listening skills and the ability to understand customer issues.</li> <li>Understanding of how audiovisual systems function, and how to diagnose and resolve problems within those systems</li> <li>An ability to use discretion and good judgment regard to sensitive or confidential information</li> <li>Proficient with computers, including audiovisual applications (AMX, Extron, Crestron, Poly, Cisco, QSC, Biamp, etc.)</li> <li>Must have a clean driving record</li> <li>Ability to work flexible hours and period domestic and international travel</li> <li>Must have excellent organization skills</li> <li>Must have proven multitasking skills and can work under extreme pressures</li> <li>Must have solid soldering skills</li> </ul> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE: </strong>CTS certification and a minimum of four years of AV experience is required with proven proficient skills required for Field Engineer level from New Era Technology.</p> <p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong> To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</p> <p><strong>REQUIRED EDUCATION: </strong>High school diploma or equivalent.</p> <p><strong>LANGUAGE SKILLS:</strong> English</p> <p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to drive a company vehicle to client sites</li> <li>Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis</li> <li>Ability to safely use ladders, scaffolding and lifts</li> <li>Willing to work at heights</li> <li>Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects</li> <li>Regularly see details of objects that are less than a few feet away</li> <li>Regularly speak clearly so listeners can understand</li> <li>Regularly understand the speech of another person</li> <li>Frequently work on projects that require deadlines</li> <li>Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds</li> </ul> <p><strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</strong> New Era Technology office and client sites, domestic and international</p> <p><strong>EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:</strong> Business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, required work hours may vary depending on business needs.
