Key Responsibilities:
As a Product Owner of our LCS Sanctions Screening Engine team, you will play a pivotal role in protecting our customers' hard-earned money through the power of data analytics, machine learning (ML) models, and robust surveillance mechanisms. You will be deeply involved in anti-money laundering (AML) surveillance and broader financial crime surveillance. These critical areas require vigilance in monitoring, detecting, and responding to suspicious activities, ensuring the bank remains resilient against evolving threats and continues to uphold the highest standards of integrity.
We are seeking a driven and experienced Product Owner / Project Manager / Business Analyst to lead and support initiatives across transactions screening and name screening systems within the bank.
The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding and shaping business initiatives requiring payment flows and/or name screening capabilities, ensuring solutions are effectively delivered, stable in production, and aligned with regulatory and operational requirements.
The role will also support the bank’s enterprise-wide screening engine replatform programme.
Stakeholder Engagement & Business Analysis
Partner with relevant stakeholders to understand requirements related to payment processing and name screening.
Analyse and translate business initiatives into clear functional requirements, user stories, and process flows.
Provide subject matter expertise on screening logic, matching workflows, alert handling, and operational impacts.
Ensure alignment between business objectives, regulatory requirements, and system capabilities.
Prioritise enhancements and changes in collaboration with stakeholders.
Product Ownership & Delivery
Act as Product Owner for screening and payment-related engine capabilities, managing the product backlog, screening engine book of work and roadmap.
Work closely with technology teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of enhancements and fixes based on agreed timelines with stakeholders.
Support testing cycles, including validation of business scenarios and sign-offs.
Production Support & Incident Oversight
Comfortable operating during high-pressure production incidents.
Engage with business users and production support teams during major production incidents involving payment flows or name screening systems.
Provide functional and business context to triage, troubleshoot, and resolve issues effectively.
Offer guidance on workarounds, prioritisation, and impact assessment during incidents.
Lead or contribute to post-incident reviews, identifying root causes and improvement actions.
Ensure lessons learned are translated into system or process enhancements.
Bank-Wide Screening Engine Replatform Programme
Support the replatforming of the bank’s enterprise screening engine, working alongside programme teams.
Act as a bridge between BAU operations and transformation programme, ensuring continuity and minimal disruption.
Ensure business adoption through training, documentation, and change management support.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Participate in audits and reviews where required.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience managing large KYC / AML programs across multiple locations.
Experience in managing multiple complex projects and competing priorities, completing milestones, and working toward multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Experience in stakeholder management such as conflict resolution, consensus building skills, and an ability to build partnerships and influence beyond area of responsibility to manage competing priorities and expectations in a matrix organisation.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and teamwork awareness.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
A proactive approach to tasks & responsibilities.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
Project Management Professional (PMP) and / or Agile certifications would be an advantage.
