About the role
Responsibilities
- Greeting customers: Welcome guests and seat them
- Taking orders: Input orders into the POS system and relay them to the kitchen
- Serving food and drinks: Deliver food and drinks to customers in a timely manner
- Ensuring customer satisfaction: Check on customers throughout their meal and address special requests
- Handling payments: Accept cash or card payments and deliver checks
- Maintaining a clean work area: Keep the dining area clean and tidy
- Collaborating with kitchen and staff: Communicate with kitchen staff and cooperate with other serving staff
Additional duties
- Setting and arranging tables
- Presenting menus and beverage lists
- Opening bottles and pouring beverages
- Clearing tables and returning dishes and cutlery to kitchen
- Making recommendations based on guest questions and preferences
- Up-selling when appropriate
- Adhering to all relevant health department rules and regulations
