About the role
Role Overview
The Behavior Analyst leads the assessment, development, and implementation of evidence-based behavior interventions to support student learning, engagement, and wellbeing. Working collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals, the Behavior Analyst ensures effective behavior support systems are in place, promotes positive behavior across the school, and helps remove barriers to learning for students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. The role also includes providing case supervision, training and supervising Behavior Therapists to ensure high-quality, consistent implementation of intervention plans.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment and Intervention
- Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
- Design and implement evidence-based interventions to support behavior and skill development
- Provide direct intervention through push-in and pull-out models
- Monitor, analyze, and adjust interventions based on student data and progress
- Support the implementation of individualized accommodations and strategies
Case Supervision & Staff Leadership
- Provide case supervision for students receiving behavior support services
- Train, supervise, and coach Behavior Therapists to ensure fidelity of implementation
- Monitor and evaluate the quality and consistency of interventions delivered
- Provide performance feedback, modeling, and ongoing professional support
- Ensure ethical and professional standards are upheld in all services
School-Wide Behavior Support
- Support the development and implementation of a school-wide behavior framework (e.g., PBIS)
- Promote consistent, proactive approaches to behavior management across the school
- Support crisis prevention and intervention strategies
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive school climate
Staff Training, Supervision and Development
- Train, supervise, and provide ongoing coaching to Behavior Therapists to ensure high-quality implementation of intervention plans
- Deliver professional development to staff on behavior management and evidence-based practices
- Support teachers in applying behavior strategies, accommodations, and classroom interventions
- Model best practices and build staff capacity in supporting diverse learner needs
- Monitor fidelity of intervention implementation and provide feedback
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with teachers, SENCo, and leadership to coordinate student support
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding behavior plans and progress
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and student support planning
Data and Administration
- Collect, maintain, and analyze data on student behavior and intervention outcomes
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in line with ethical and school requirements
- Contribute to student reviews, IEPs, and Learning Support Plans
- Ensure compliance with professional (BACB) standards and school policies

- Students demonstrate measurable improvements in behavior, self-regulation, and engagement in learning
- Individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) are consistently implemented with high fidelity and effectiveness
- Functional behavior assessments (FBAs) inform targeted, data-driven interventions
- Behavior Therapists are effectively trained, supervised, and supported, ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery
- Behavioral data is accurately collected, analyzed, and used to inform decision-making and student support
- Students requiring intensive support receive timely, appropriate interventions and accommodations
Personal Specifications
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Psychology, Behavior Analysis, Education with Behavior Analyst certification
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience supporting students with behavioral needs
- Experience supervising or coaching support staff (preferred)
