Help us save lives and make a difference. </div> <div> </div> What You'll Do:   The Behavioral Health Medical Provider MD/DO - Telehealth position will direct, coordinate, and provide medical/clinical services to assigned individuals within the local facilities including but not limited to: Psychiatric evaluations and assessments, differential diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, ordering testing, engagement, family meetings, supportive psychotherapy, individual education, court ordered evaluations, risk assessment and discharge planning. The Behavioral Health Medical Provider MD/DO will be able to provide support and direct clinical supervision to psychiatric nurse practitioners and physician assistants while on duty. They will have an interest in supporting the quality of services provided throughout the organization by participating in quality improvement initiatives. This position will require familiarity with all local involuntary and voluntary processes and procedures.  <ul> <li>Complete initial full psychiatric assessments, crisis interventions, family interventions, focused crisis diagnostic assessments, assessments of capacity for consent to treatment, risk assessments, individual education, progress toward treatment goals, and discharge planning including medical, psychological, social, behavioral and developmental aspects of the consumer's care, treatment, and services.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Document individual’s progress in the clinical record in progress notes.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Write orders related to the individual treatment plan, including admission orders, discharge orders, and medication administration orders.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Oversee delivery of medication education and consent, according to established policy.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Order laboratory tests according to standards of clinical practice.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Review the health assessments completed by nursing staff.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Obtain a past and current medical history, and conduct a focused physical examination as indicated, according to established guidelines.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Initiate contact with Primary Care Physicians and Emergency Room clinicians according to professional standards and established guidelines.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Assess individuals’ needs and guide the clinical team while managing treatment plan updates, in addition to initiating contact with Outpatient Behavioral Health Provider according to established guidelines.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Review and utilize all available documents from the crisis clinical team.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure each treatment modality is appropriate for the individual.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Work closely with local medical leaders to ensure involuntary and voluntary processes are operating optimally.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Escalate complicated cases to the appropriate medical director as needed.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Actively participates in activities intended to improve the quality of services within the organization in the form of providing or attending clinical didactics and providing direct supervision to advanced practitioners, students, residents, and other members of the clinical staff.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Participates in medical staff meetings including regional and quarterly meetings; participates in all required meetings; and participates in any meeting as requested by Medical Leadership.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Conduct emergency examinations within a timely manner.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Be available for telephone/video consultation while on duty.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">The Psychiatrist may be called to testify in court following filing of the affidavit; testimony may take place via audio-visual platform while on shift.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate with on-site Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants who provide 24/7 coverage for initial assessments and services.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Be available at all times to evaluate patient conditions, prescribe treatments, and provide ongoing consultation to NPs and PAs.</li> <li style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Performs all other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> What You'll Bring: <ul> <li>Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine</li> <li>4 years of post-doctoral experience, to include approved psychiatric residency training programs, in the delivery of mental health treatment of adults, children, and/or adolescents</li> <li>Licensed by all State Medical Boards in which Connections Health Solutions provides services</li> <li>Eligible for Board Certification</li> <li>Unrestricted DEA license</li> <li>The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy.
