This role is responsible for ensuring all accounting records for the designated legal entity/entities for which they are responsible are accurate and updated in a timely manner. Reconciliation of balance sheet including the preparation of appropriate supporting schedules.
Main duties/responsibilities
- Responsible for the end-to-end accounts payable process, including but not limited to, the accurate and timely coding of invoices into the accounting system, initiation of vendor payments, preparation of weekly AP reports and reconciliation of the AP subledger.
- Perform month-end accounting activities such as balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and appropriate balance sheet schedules. Including among others; pre-payments, accruals, depreciation,
- Analyse financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions.
- Ensuring expenses are approved by budget holder and in line with budget.
- Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion.
- Fully participate in audit activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentation.
- Monitor and record financial transactions, according to company policies and regulations along with local GAAP and statutory requirements.
- To perform any other duties as required.
Qualifications, knowledge & experience: Academic, vocational, or professional qualifications and experience required for the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is required. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master’s degree in a related discipline is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Great Plains, or other similar ERP system.
- Working knowledge of Excel to an Intermediate level, pivots, VLOOKUP’s, etc.
- 3+ years’ experience in similar position
- Familiarity with the BPO industry is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in English, both written and oral communication skills
- Skill in establishing & maintaining effective working relationships with the proven ability to work in a matrix environment across functional lines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, ethics, and commitment to confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with various departments.
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities.
