This position serves as Chief of Stewardship for the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission. The selected candidate will lead a team of up to eleven people in the planning, implementation and monitoring of ecological restoration efforts for Arkansas' System of Natural Areas. They will be responsible for administrative duties, including budgeting, record keeping and reporting, for the agency's stewardship section and represent this section within the agency's leadership team.

The preferred qualifications are a B.S. in Biology, Ecology, or a related field with 5 years of experience (additional education can be substituted for part of this) and some supervisory experience. 

The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism has three major divisions: Arkansas State Parks, Arkansas Heritage and Arkansas Tourism. Arkansas State Parks manages 52 state parks and promotes Arkansas as a tourist destination for people around the country. Arkansas Heritage preserves and promotes Arkansas’s natural and cultural history and heritage through four historic museums and four cultural preservation agencies. Arkansas Tourism improves the state’s economy by generating travel and enhancing the image of the state.
