About the Role
The International Trans Fund (ITF) is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial operations of the organization. This role will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, processing payments, and supporting monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with nonprofit finance experience who values accuracy, confidentiality, and working in a mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for the following:
- Record financial transactions in QuickBooks Online.
- Process supplier payments and reimbursements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of receipts, invoices, and payment records.
- Reconcile credit card statement monthly.
- Assist Senior Finance & Operations Officer on Annual Audit and monthly reporting.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure data security across all records.
- Staff Timesheets and Payslips.
Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:
- At least two years of experience in bookkeeping or finance, ideally within a nonprofit or grantmaking context.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and confidence managing day-to-day financial transactions.
- A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and respect for confidentiality.
- Experience with international payments, reimbursements, and reconciliations.
- Knowledge of, and experience working within, the Canadian financial and regulatory context (including payroll, tax, and compliance requirements).
- The ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate clearly within a remote team.
- Alignment with ITF’s mission, values, and commitment to trans-led, transfeminist, and movement-based work.
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of nonprofit compliance and fund accounting.
- Prior experience supporting audits.
- Ability to work effectively across time zones and with remote team.
Practical Details
- This is a part-time position.
- The position is fully remote but we are seeking a candidate based in what is currently known as Canada, ideally based in Ottawa.
- Compensation will be offered at $45 CAD per hour, based on a 15-hour work week.
