About the role
**About Oper**
Oper, a European Fintech company, is a leader in cloud-based digital mortgage software. We provide personalized journeys for borrowers and lenders. Oper's technology streamlines the mortgage application process, eliminates paperwork, and increases transparency. Currently collaborating with 16 leading financial institutions across 6 European countries, our digital solutions result in a +27% increase in digital customer conversion, +81% faster mortgage decisions, and a 90% first-time-right.
Oper's AI Analyst, Herman, is a mortgage underwriting agent that automates document validation, data extraction, fact-checking, and credit policy application to deliver fully explainable, decision-ready loan recommendations in minutes instead of hours.
A passionate and engaging team of over 30 stellar Fintech operators works vigorously to transform European mortgages by enhancing efficiency and alleviating borrower anxiety. Backed by Bessemer Venture Partners and Motive Ventures, our SaaS platform has raised EUR 14 million, placing Oper at the forefront of revolutionizing mortgages in Europe. Oper currently has offices in Zürich, Switzerland, and Antwerp, Belgium.
**Your Mission**
We are looking for a **Business Analyst (DACH)** to join our Customer Success team.
You will start with one of our flagship Austrian customers, owning the delivery work that turns their business needs into a configured, live Oper platform. As we continue to grow in DACH, you will expand into a broader portfolio of German-speaking lenders, becoming the trusted delivery partner who guides them from kickoff to value.
This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys structuring messy problems, sitting in a workshop with bankers and product owners, and translating what they hear into something concrete the engineering team can build and the customer can run. It is also a role for someone who is **AI-native**, who uses modern AI tooling as a core part of how they think, write, and ship.
Tasks
**Your Responsibilities**
_Capture and structure customer requirements_
You will be the bridge between what the customer wants and what Oper delivers.
- Run **discovery workshops** with business and IT stakeholders at our DACH customers
- Capture functional and business requirements in clear, well-structured documentation
- **Map requirements to Oper's product**: identify what works out-of-the-box, what needs configuration, and what genuinely needs engineering
- Translate business needs into user stories and functional specifications the squad can act on
- Manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle
_Analyze integration points_
Our customers run on complex banking stacks. You will figure out how Oper plugs in cleanly.
- Review **technical API documentation** from core banking systems, CRMs, and online banking platforms
- Work with Oper engineering to identify and define integration points
- Document data flows, contracts, and edge cases so nothing surprises us at go-live
- Make smart, pragmatic recommendations on what to integrate now vs. later
_Configure workflows and deliver value_
You will own the hands-on configuration work that makes Oper work for each customer.
- Configure mortgage products, business rules, and customer journeys inside the Oper platform
- Validate that configurations match the agreed scope and pass acceptance testing
- Lead **training sessions** for end users and customer champions
- Stay close to the customer through go-live and early adoption, then hand over cleanly to the Customer Success team
_Work AI-native_
We expect you to use modern AI tooling as a real lever, not a curiosity.
- Use AI tools to scaffold documentation, draft specs, summarize workshops, and accelerate analysis, automate processes,…
- Identify where AI compounds your work and where it does not, and design your workflow accordingly
- Help us push the bar on what an AI-native delivery function looks like at Oper
Requirements
**Your Profile**
We are looking for someone with a consulting background who is ready to go deep on a product and an industry and love technology:
- **2 to 3 years of experience in consulting** (Big-4, boutique strategy/tech, or implementation consulting).
- **Fluent in German and English**
- You **love structuring problems**: messy customer conversations come out of your hands as clean documents, frameworks, and next steps
- You genuinely enjoy **customer and end-user interaction**: workshops energize you rather than drain you
- **Technical affinity**: you are comfortable reading API documentation, understanding integration patterns, and configuring software. You do not need to code, but you should not be afraid of anything technical either.
- **AI-native**: you can name the tools, the workflows, and the concrete recent examples where AI gave you real leverage. You see AI as a default part of how you work.
- Action-oriented, with a knack for getting things done in ambiguous situations
- Comfortable in a fast-growing, evolving SaaS environment
🌍 **Languages**
- **Fluent in German** (required)
- **Fluent in English** (required)
**Bonus qualities**
- Familiarity with the **European mortgage market** or financial services more broadly
- Experience with **enterprise SaaS implementations**, integrations, or workflow configuration
- Experience working with banks or lenders as clients
**Location & Setup**
- **Belgium-based** candidates: hybrid setup with 2 to 3 days per week in our **Antwerp office**
- **Vienna-based** candidates: remote setup, with regular travel to Antwerp (roughly quarterly) and to DACH customers as needed
- Working in **CET hours**
- Reporting to the **Head of Customer Success (Co-Founder)**
- Close collaboration with the Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams
Benefits
As a fast-growing fintech, we're building a team where you can truly make an impact. We offer:
- Competitive annual salary, depending on experience
- Employee stock options
- 25 vacation days per year + **1 paid mental health day**
- Dynamic international team with **12 nationalities**
- Supportive, inclusive, and collaborative culture
- Learning & Development budget with dedicated time for growth
- Structured onboarding with a **dedicated mentor**
- Travel budget to collaborate with teams in **Antwerp**
- Annual company-wide **Team G2G** in an inspiring location
- Extra-legal benefits depending on your location
- Full support with local administration
- Health insurance and pension scheme
- Flexible working hours
- All equipment needed to do your best work
