About the role

BB&E is a full-service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering, and Program/Project Management Services to the Federal and private sectors.

Position Summary

BB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Business Development Manager (Southeast Region) to join our team on a part-time basis, supporting business development, client relationship management, and staff mentoring from our Atlanta, GA office. The position will require working in multiple functional areas to provide leadership, strategy, and direction supporting the development of key clients and pursuits within our Federal A&E, A&AS, and Industrial Business Lines, with a focus on expanding BB&E’s presence in the Southeast Region.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Client Service Manager (CSM): responsible for building and maintaining client relationships, understanding client needs, positioning BB&E to support those needs and ensure client satisfaction, and serving as the client’s liaison with BB&E. Prepare updates, and lead Client Account Plan management
  • Business Development Leader (BDL): In support of our Federal and Industrial Business Lines, further establish and grow our compliance and A&E services areas, develop and lead key pursuit strategies, support proposal efforts, and learn BB&E clients, experience, and proposal processes
  • Develop new clients within the Southeast Region, with a focus on aviation/airport facilities, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers districts, and industrial clients including NASA and others as identified
  • Position for new work and opportunities, lead and support strategic pursuit and proposal efforts with a focus on the industrial sector and Southeast Region growth
  • Mentor and grow BD and project/program management staff
  • Support senior leadership in FED A&E and A&AS strategy development to drive revenue growth, identification of key contract/TO pursuits, and development of client development plans for existing and potential new clients; serve in a leadership capacity as the program grows
  • Lead and support the development of Client Account Management (CAM) Plans, work closely with our BD Team to monitor and track new opportunities, TOs, and modifications to existing contracts that extend our performance
  • Develop an internal marketing strategy to sell your skills and capabilities to others within the Business Lines, Programs, and Client Service Teams
  • Develop a list of potential clients and opportunities that BB&E should pursue based on input from leadership and your relationships with existing clients
  • Support proposals by developing winning strategies, preparing marketing and communication materials to grow environmental compliance, A&E, and construction services, and direct teams to win work

Requirements

Knowledge and Competencies

  • Ability to quickly understand BB&E resources, business lines, and products and services
    • Ability to quickly integrate into the firm to develop relationships with staff and build a network of support staff
    • Must be persistent, tactful, flexible, and organized
    • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Software: Proficiency using MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Self-Starter: Highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously

Experience & Education

  • Experience: A minimum of 15 years of experience is required
  • Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited college or university is required
