About the Business Development Manager Position
Trove is uniquely positioned to create an entirely new category and the sales function is leading much of the work to tap into this large and growing market. We have a great deal of inbound interest and aim to work with a targeted list of large, renowned brands. We complete a handful of large, and often complex, deals every year and each deal requires a very strong and high touch sales process.
The Business Development Manager will play a critical role in growing the list of world-class brands that use Trove to power their recommerce platforms. This role will combine skills in business development, relationship management, operational and technical acumen with strong cross-functional leadership skills. The candidate must be a motivated and self-directed seller, well organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. This role reports to the Director of Business Development and will regularly interface with the executive team at Trove.
Responsibilities
- Execute the strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders
- Develop and apply your insights to identify impactful partnership opportunities
- Build and manage multiple cross-functional relationships with targeted brands to introduce and provide a solution to resale that addresses key business priorities to inspire action and engagement with Trove
- Create and present compelling business proposals for brands to enter the resale space
- Support the negotiation and execution of complex and impactful deals, while engaging with and aligning cross-functional teams internally and externally
- Prepare and give business reviews to the executive leadership team regarding progress and roadblocks to establishing new engagements
- Understand and actively use HubSpot and other internal Trove tools
- Take an active role in solving problems, which involve other functional areas
- Exceed quarterly targets
- Some travel required
Qualifications
- Ability to quickly establish C-level rapport and credibility
- Experience building complex strategies, gaining executive buy-in on key initiatives
- Experienced in task prioritization, workload and escalation management
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Tactful diplomacy and excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty and ambiguity
- Highly analytical, innovative thinker and data driven with a strong attention to detail, but also a creative problem solver
- Experience bringing and scaling new and emerging products/business lines to market
Nice to have
- Passionate about retail, ecommerce, and brands in outdoor, fashion and/or luxury
- Background in SaaS business development, product management and/or product marketing
