Instructional Empowerment is hiring a Business Development Specialist to expand our partnerships with K–12 schools and districts nationwide.
About Instructional Empowerment
Instructional Empowerment (IE) is a mission-driven organization committed to ending generational poverty and eliminating achievement gaps. We partner with schools and districts to redesign Tier 1 instruction, ensuring deeper learning for ALL students.
What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day)
- Build relationships with superintendents, principals, and district leaders
- Lead consultative conversations around teacher & leader evaluation systems
- Manage a pipeline from first conversation through signed partnership
- Deliver virtual and in-person presentations to education leaders
- Collaborate with internal teams to refine offerings and messaging
- You’re not “selling a product”—you’re solving instructional challenges
- Your background in education is a core qualification, not just a bonus
- You’ll influence district-wide systems, not just individual classrooms
- Strong alignment to mission: improving outcomes for ALL students
- 3+ years as a District-level instructional leader (including HR or evaluation systems)
- Direct experience with teacher and leader evaluation systems (Marzano, Danielson, etc.)
- Experience leading or supporting instructional improvement initiatives
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders
- Experience in sales, business development, or client-facing roles
- Experience facilitating professional development for educators
- Familiarity with school improvement frameworks and standards-based instruction
- Remote (U.S.-based)
- Full-time, Exempt
- Travel: ~35% (schools, districts, conferences)
- Flexible schedule based on time zones and client needs
- Salary range $100,000-$110,000
- 100% paid medical/dental/vision/LTD/STD/Life (Employee & Dependents)
- 15 Days PTO given upfront in your first year
- 8 Paid Holidays + 2 Floating Holidays
- 401K plan - 4% company match
- Prefer transactional sales over relationship-building
- Do not have K–12 leadership or evaluation experience
- Are not comfortable engaging senior district leaders
- Former principal, AP, or district leader
- Passionate about improving teacher effectiveness
- Skilled at building trust and influencing decision-makers
- Comfortable owning a pipeline and driving results
