About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within traffic control and work zone safety services.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with contractors, municipalities, utilities, and project managers.
- Support the preparation of bids, proposals, RFPs, and RFQs, including gathering scope details and coordinating pricing with internal teams.
- Work closely with operations and safety teams to ensure proposals align with field capabilities and compliance standards.
- Maintain and update the sales pipeline, tracking leads, follow-ups, and active opportunities.
- Conduct local market research to identify upcoming projects, new clients, and competitive activity.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client meetings to support opportunity development.
- Assist with contract documentation and ensure smooth handoff of awarded projects to operations.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients to encourage repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Provide regular updates to leadership regarding sales activity, pipeline progress, and market insights.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience in sales, business development, or client support within traffic control, construction, utilities, telecom, or infrastructure services preferred.
- Familiarity with bid processes, public works contracts, and construction project cycles.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to understand project scopes and collaborate with estimating or operations teams to support accurate proposals.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to lead generation and follow-up.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple active opportunities.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with operations, safety, and project management teams.
- Willingness to travel locally for client meetings, pre-bid conferences, and job site visits.
