About the role

Looking for Philippines-based candidates

Job Role: Senior Cabinet Vision Draftsperson / Cabinet Designer

Compensation range: $2,000 AUD - $3,500 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: We are an Australian-based joinery and cabinetry business specialising in custom-built residential and commercial interiors. The company focuses on delivering high-quality, made-to-order projects including bespoke kitchens, built-in cabinetry, entertainment units, storage solutions, and other tailored joinery work.

The team manages projects from concept and drafting through to manufacturing and installation, with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, detail, and production accuracy. They work closely with clients to deliver functional and visually polished spaces, combining practical manufacturing knowledge with modern interior finishes and custom solutions.

Role Overview: We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Cabinet Vision Draftsperson / Cabinet Designer to join our team full-time. This role is suited to someone with advanced Cabinet Vision expertise who can confidently manage both the design and technical drafting side of residential and commercial joinery projects.

This is not just a drafting role. Many projects begin with inspiration images, empty spaces, or early concepts, so the successful candidate must be confident working directly with clients to develop layouts, selections, and functional joinery solutions before preparing production-ready drawings and CNC outputs.

You will work on a variety of projects including high-end homes, duplexes, medical centres, shop fit-outs, hospitals, and large renovation projects. Strong English communication is essential, as you will regularly communicate with Australian clients regarding designs, materials, layouts, and shop drawings.

We are looking for someone who can work independently, understands Australian joinery standards and workflows, and brings a strong balance of design thinking, technical accuracy, and manufacturing knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed joinery shop drawings and production-ready outputs using Cabinet Vision
  • Design cabinetry and joinery layouts based on client requirements, inspiration references, or empty space concepts
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding layouts, materials, colours, finishes, appliances, and functional requirements
  • Produce accurate CNC nesting files and manufacturing-ready documentation for factory production
  • Interpret architectural drawings, site measurements, and project specifications for residential and commercial projects
  • Review drawings and specifications to identify potential manufacturing or installation issues before production
  • Coordinate revisions, approvals, and technical details with internal stakeholders and clients
  • Apply strong understanding of Australian joinery standards, manufacturing workflows, and material optimisation processes
  • Maintain organised project documentation, revisions, and file management across multiple active projects

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience using Cabinet Vision in a cabinetry or joinery production environment
  • Previous experience working for an Australian joinery or cabinetry company is required
  • Strong experience across both residential and commercial joinery projects
  • Ability to handle both cabinetry design and technical drafting responsibilities
  • Experience preparing CNC nesting files, manufacturing outputs, and production-ready shop drawings
  • Strong understanding of Australian joinery standards, cabinetry construction methods, and manufacturing workflows
  • Strong understanding of material optimisation and CNC production processes
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar drafting/design software is highly regarded
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills with a clear and professional communication style
  • Confident communicating directly with Australian clients via phone and email
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects independently
