About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day running of the café
- Prepare and serve fresh, home-made high-quality food and beverages
- Create and serve barista-style coffees to a high standard
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times
- Support the Café Manager with any events
- Handle customer payments and operate the till
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout all café areas
- Wash up, clear tables and ensure smooth daily operations
- Cover the Café Manager when they are on holiday
- Observe and comply with all Health & Safety and food hygiene requirements
- Support the Café Manager with any additional duties as required
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Previous cooking and catering experience is essential
- Barista experience and confidence using coffee machines
- A passion for food preparation and customer service
- A good understanding of food hygiene, allergens and health & safety legislation
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Strong time management and the ability to work efficiently to deadlines
- Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach
- A professional and enthusiastic attitude
- A “can do” mindset with the ability to contribute to an exceptional customer experience
