About your new role
We’re looking for a Café Manager to join our Brisbane team, overseeing both our established café and our recently opened second site and who will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the cafés.
A day in the life
This role is a hands-on leadership position. You’ll have a strong floor presence during peak times to lead by example and support the team, while overseeing operations across FOH and bar. Working closely with our Head Barista, you’ll create a welcoming space where exceptional hospitality, team culture and operational excellence come together.
Please note this is a full-time role working 38 hours across a 7-day roster, including weekends.
- Lead, coach, and support FOH and bar teams to deliver outstanding service
- Set and maintain high standards for hospitality, presentation, and customer care
- Manage rosters in line with labour targets
- Be a visible, calm leader on the floor during busy service periods
- Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene and OH&S standards
- Partner with national support teams and follow operational frameworks, budget and financial performance to keep the café aligned with Allpress brand values
- Handle customer feedback with empathy and accountability, turning challenges into opportunities to build trust
About you
Ideally, you’ll be a hospitality leader who comes from specialty coffee background and have a passion for both people and coffee. You thrive in a busy environment, you lead with positivity and you're someone who is organised, approachable. To nail this role, you’ll need:
- Proven experience as a Specialty coffee barista or head barista
- Experience in balancing team culture, customer experience, and operational systems
- Strong team leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate and manage performance
- A hands-on approach, with the confidence to lead from the floor during service
- Excellent organisational skills, including rostering and operational systems management
- Knowledge of food safety and OH&S standards
- A passion for hospitality and creating inclusive, customer-focused spaces
- Experience as a supervisor or café manager is a bonus
