About the role

Our Automotive client is seeking a Calibration engineer to work in their  Exhaust Aftertreatment System (EATS) department, responsible for the global platform development of exhaust aftertreatment systems for heavy-duty combustion engine applications. The role involves calibration and verification of various exhaust aftertreatment system functionalities, such as SCR NOx reduction, DPF soot management, regeneration control, to reduce hazardous emissions. The position focuses on ensuring that systems meet global emission standards (e.g., Euro VI, Euro VII) for both diesel and alternative fuel-powered engines.

Main Responsibilities:

  • System Calibration: Ensure the calibration of various exhaust aftertreatment functions like SCR, DPF, and regeneration control to meet emission requirements.
  • Test Planning and Execution: Plan and perform tests in the engine laboratory and in vehicle testing environments to validate system performance.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze test data and system behavior to ensure that all functions are optimized and aligned with compliance standards.
  • Innovation: Drive continuous improvement in calibration methods and ensure the latest technologies and processes are integrated into the testing and validation phases.
  • Collaboration: Work with other teams (e.g., component engineers, testing teams) and suppliers to ensure the smooth integration of aftertreatment systems.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and present engineering reports, summarizing test results and providing recommendations for further development.
  • Climate Expeditions: Participate in vehicle testing in various climates (cold and warm) to ensure the robustness of the systems.

Who Are You?
To succeed in this position, you prioritize teamwork and look for solutions rather than problems. You bring curiosity and the ability to learn new things and develop creative ideas. You are capable of implementing these ideas in practice and are eager to contribute to reducing harmful emissions in a sustainable way.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master of Science or equivalent in a relevant technical field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related disciplines).
  • Experience: Experience within combustion engine and/or exhaust aftertreatment development is desirable.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, fluent in English (both written and spoken).
  • Teamwork: Collaborative mindset and a focus on continuous improvement and learning.
