Exciting opportunity to lead a pharmaceutical company with a life changing innovation!

A clinical stage pharmaceutical company, through Haeger & Carlsson Executive Search, is seeking a highly experienced and execution focused Chief Executive Officer to lead the business through its next phase of development and growth. The primary mission is to secure the capital required to advance and complete the company’s clinical development programs, including building a team.

The CEO will define and execute a robust financing strategy, ensuring access to sufficient funding to support preclinical and clinical studies, regulatory advancement, and preparation for long term commercialization. The role requires a strong combination of strategic leadership, investor credibility, and hands-on capital markets experience.

You will work closely with the Board and executive leadership to align financing with clinical milestones and value creation, while positioning the company as a credible and attractive investment opportunity. The CEO will also act as the primary spokesperson towards investors and the broader financial community.

This is a hands on leadership role requiring strong execution capability, clear communication, and the ability to operate effectively in a resource constrained, clinical stage environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Define and execute the overall financing and capital-raising strategy

• Lead capital-raising activities including equity financing, partnerships, and non-dilutive funding

• Act as primary spokesperson towards investors and the financial community

• Align funding strategy with clinical development plans and key milestones

• Lead investor communication, due diligence, and financing negotiations

• Drive long-term strategy, value creation, and preparation for commercialization readiness

• Build and lead a high-performing executive team

• Work closely with the Board on strategy, financing, and governance

Profile:

• Senior executive experience within biotech, medtech, or life sciences

• Proven track record of raising significant capital (€20M+)

• Strong investor network within life sciences

• Deep understanding of pharmaceutical clinical development and regulatory frameworks

• Highly credible, execution oriented, and resilient leader

• MD, background in medical sciences and/or a PhD is an advantage
