About the role
Overview
Interview patients and record their medical history. Measure patients' vital signs, such as their blood pressure and weight. Help physicians with patient examinations. Located in the following departments: Audiology, Deployment Health Department, Women’s Health Services and Primary Care Services, Pediatrics for Naval Hospital Clinic/Navy Medicine Readiness Training Command (NHC/NMRTC) Oak Harbor, WA.
Location: Naval Health Clinic Oak Harbor, WA 98278
Schedule: Monday - Friday, between the hours of 0700 to 1630
Pay: Between $23.50/hr - $24/hr & Health & Wellness $5.09*/hr worked (in lieu of benefits)

Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms prior to patient's arrival.
- Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
- Check patient's vital signs, to include temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, blood pressure, and pulse oximeter reading.
- Obtain and document patient's current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies and vital signs on the correct form.
- Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered.
- Maintain examination room stock levels and perform routine maintenance of examination rooms.
- Complete lab and x-ray requisitions in accordance with clinic policies.
- Enter demographic data into the computer upon patient check-in; enter diagnosis and departing time when patient is released.
Qualifications
- Degree: Certificate.
- Education: Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Technologists or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
- Certification: Current certification as a medical assistant by the NHA (National Health career Association), ARMA (American Registry of Medical Assistants), NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing), AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants) , AMT (American Medical Technologists), AMCA (American Medical Certification Association)
- Experience: One year of experience within the last two years as a Certified Medical Assistant.
