As a CMA, you will play an important role in medication administration, fostering meaningful connections with residents, and championing their overall well-being. What you’ll do: <ul> <li>Assist with the implementation of the prescribed health care plan.</li> <li>Administer medications to residents according to prescribed schedule.</li> <li>Administer PRN medications if authorized by the charge nurse.</li> <li>Document all medication administration according to state standards in all areas of the chart.</li> <li>Observe and report to supervisor any reactions and side effects of medication administered.</li> <li>Take and record vital signs of residents, as required, prior to administration of medications which could affect or change the vital signs.</li> <li>See that the medication room, med cart and refrigerator are kept clean and orderly at all times.</li> <li>Complete incident reports on all medication errors, accidents, or any other unusual event, on residents, visitors or employees.</li> <li>Restock med cart with ample supplies; check expiration dates on all medication.</li> <li>Complete narcotic count at beginning and end of shift.</li> </ul> What you’ll bring: <ul> <li> <ul> <li>High School diploma or GED.</li> <li>Current Texas Medication Aide Certification.</li> <li>Current CPR Certification.</li> <li>Minimum one-year related experience preferred, or appropriate formal education or Buckner training.</li> <li>Working knowledge of basic health care practices and procedures, including infection control.</li> <li>A friendly attitude and a servant’s heart.</li> </ul> </li> </ul>  The above description reflects the details considered necessary to describe the essential functions of the job and should not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be performed in the job.  <div>About Buckner Retirement Services: </div> <div>Buckner Retirement Services comprises a network of senior living communities across Texas.
