About the role
What You’ll Do
Empower & Support Recovery Journeys
- Provide one-on-one recovery coaching in community settings
- Build trusting relationships using lived experience to inspire growth and resilience
- Help individuals and families overcome barriers to accessing care
Connect & Navigate Systems
- Guide individuals through healthcare, housing, employment, and social services
- Coordinate referrals and ensure continuity of care
- Support engagement in recovery meetings and ongoing services
Engage in the Community
- Conduct outreach in shelters, community hubs, and other key locations
- Lead strength-based conversations that promote self-determination
- Deliver Naloxone (Narcan) education and support harm reduction efforts
Collaborate & Contribute
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and community partners
- Maintain accurate, compliant documentation
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives
What You Bring
Required
- Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (Rhode Island) or willingness to obtain within 1 year of employment
- Lived experience in recovery and ability to apply recovery principles professionally
- 2–3 years’ experience in recovery support, outreach, or behavioral health
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally

Preferred
- Certified Recovery Coach credential
