CFD Operations Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and optimising the complete CFD workflow, from geometry preparation through to post-processing.
• Driving automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency, repeatability, and scalability.
• Leading meshing strategy development, improving quality, robustness, and turnaround time.
• Running and analysing baseline simulations (wind tunnel and track configurations) to support aerodynamic development.
• Ensuring strong process governance, including version control, traceability, and reproducibility.
• Collaborating with Aerodynamics, IT, and HPC teams to optimise CFD integration and performance.
• Identifying opportunities to improve throughput, speed, and data quality.
• Supporting regulatory compliance, including FIA audit requirements.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Aerodynamics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of the CFD simulation lifecycle and best practices.
• Proven experience in CFD process development, workflow optimisation, and meshing strategies.
• Programming skills in Python for automation and tool development.
• Experience with CAD tools (ideally CATIA) for geometry preparation and manipulation.
• Expertise in post-processing tools, data analysis, and visualisation.
• Familiarity with HPC environments and job scheduling systems.
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
• A proactive, structured approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and collaborate across teams.
• Experience in Formula One or high-performance motorsport is advantageous.
