About the role

  • As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes in your designated kitchen section. 
  • We incorporate all Chef de Partie's in the development of new menus, ensuring all food preparation meets company standards and health regulations. 
  • Your role includes supervising and training junior kitchen staff, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and monitoring portion and waste control.
  •  Collaboration with other kitchen sections is essential for smooth service.

Key Responsibilities

  • As a member of our MSC Family, you are responsible for ensuring that our guests have an unforgettable and pleasant experience. All the positive work you do even when not directly in contact with guests, will impact their experience.
  •  Prepare Products for all designated meal periods to company standard.
  •  Prepare daily orders for your Station.
  •  Ensure all quality, taste & presentation is of a professional high standard.
  •  Attend food operational meetings as required.
  •  Provide constant guidance and support to all crew in your section.
  •  Apply all food cost control measures in accordance with company requirements.
  •  Monitor all issues that can lead to food waste in the section.
  •  Follow MSC Public Health regulations using HACCP protocols.
  •  Control and organize efficiently all responsible storage areas.
  •  Report defects in equipment to the Executive Sous Chef.
  •  Ensure proper storage of food in refrigerators and freezers in your Area.
  •  Ensure all schedules are correctly followed.
  •  Works responsibly and consistently to ensure guest satisfaction.

Education/Experience/Qualifications:

  • Fluent English communication skills (both spoken and written) to interact with the culinary team and guests when required. 
  • You have proven experience as a Chef De Partie or in a similar role, preferably on-board cruise ships.
  • Proven experience in a fine-dining or luxury hospitality setting, preferably onboard a cruise ship or in a high-end hotel/restaurant. 
  • Culinary certification or equivalent qualification that aligns with international culinary standards. 
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage time efficiently, and maintain consistency in high-quality food production. 
  • Passion for excellence in gastronomy, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. 
  • Understanding of food safety regulations, ensuring adherence to HACCP standards and cruise line sanitation policies.
